As you will know, if you went on my old web site, It became very difficult to update, so I was not able to continue last year.
It was a quiet year, so not much news to report anyway, but one major event needs a mention.
The Dales Pony Society Centenary celebrations.
Events were held all over the country and Wales played its part, by holding a ride from here last April. Six riders on Dales took part, and one honorary Dales and my neighbour Val joined the ride to act as guide. I wasn't able to ride due to back problems, but some of the non riders were able to meet up at various points, take photos and join in the fun. Two young Dales and their mother joined in, by having a short in-hand parade around the farm and got rosettes too!
The weather was perfect, and the ponies all behaved themselves, though they were a bit excited at the start and the idea of having a photo parade had to be abandoned.
On return, refreshments were enjoyed by the riders and non riding members, with lots of Dales chit chat.
Off they go, all ponies sporting the traditional tail ribbons in green and red to bring in the Welsh tradition as well.

I only wish I could have ridden with them, but I got to join in on foot.
Here they come, and there they go!
Back up crews awaiting the riders return. And yes here they come, safe and sound.
All we need now is the photos we couldn't take before the ride, ponies all tired so very helpful and keen to get a drink, food and a rest.
